DESCRIPTION:Black Bartow Events: Education\, Empowerment\, and Inclusion in Bartow County\nJoin us for a presentation by Trey Benham\, of Black Bartow Events\, as he discusses what this organization does to promote education\, empowerment\, and inclusion in the community\, as well as the local history that created the need for Black Bartow Events. \nThis lecture is free for BHM members. $7 for not-yet-members. \nGet Tickets Here\nFor more information on Black Bartow Events\, visit their Facebook page here. \nGet to Know the Speaker\n \nTrey Benham is a Cartersville native\, born to the late\, James “Bud” Benham and the late Phyllis Benham. He is the father to his 16-year-old son\, De’mari Benham. After graduating from Cass High School in 2003\, he obtained a B.A. in Business Management\, in 2007\, from Fort Valley State University. He is a member of Saint Luke African Methodist Episcopal Church\, Cartersville\, Georgia\, and serves as a steward and usher.  \nBenham is a member of New Frontier of Bartow County\, Inc.\, Board Chair for the American Red Cross\, Northwest Georgia Chapter\, and also sits on the following boards: Atlanta’s Best and Brightest\, United Way of Bartow County\, and Cartersville-Bartow Chamber of Commerce. He’s worked at Goodwill of North Georgia for the past 12 years. Currently\, he is the Technical Assistance Manager\, overseeing contract for the statewide SNAP E&T program.
