Dr. Andi Mckenzie\, Curator of Works on Paper at the Carlos Museum at Emory University\, will discuss how museums can use their collections\, archives\, and exhibits to actively engage with ongoing civil rights issues. Join the Cartersville DDA and the Bartow History Museum for the St. Patty’s Day Pub Crawl! \nThe Crawl will begin at start of business on both March 18th and 19th\, and will run until close of bar hours.\nThe price of a ticket is $45 and includes a branded rainbow silicone pint glass\, punch card\, and one beverage at each of the 10 participating locations. \nThis year for an additional $10\, you have the option to swing by the Bartow History Museum on Saturday from 5-6PM for a Shamrock-themed cocktail and live music from a Celtic rock band! \n \nYou’ll be drinking with: \n\nDrowned Valley Brewery Co.\nJefferson’s\nJZ’s Taste of Georgia\nMaine Street Coastal Cuisine\nMellow Mushroom\nOld Havana Cigar Bar\nOlive Tree & Vine\nShipfaced Pub\nTable 20\nThe Local Bar and Grill\n\n*Hours of operation vary\, so be sure to check each participating location’s social page as you plan your route. \nIn order to participate\, cups must be picked up at the Downtown Development Authority office\, located in the historic train depot in downtown Cartersville. DESCRIPTION:Evening Lecture: Jordan Duncan\nJoin the Bartow History Museum for our Evening Lecture on March 31 at 7:00 p.m. Jordan Duncan\, one of our own Educators here at the Bartow History Museum\, will be speaking about the history of toys and how the popular culture of our world shaped the iconic toys we know and love. This lecture will coincide with the opening of our new feature exhibition\, It’s All Fun and Games\, featuring vintage toys and games from the BHM collection! \nThis lecture is free for members. $7 for non-members. \nGet to Know the Speaker\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJordan is originally from south Louisiana and has been a Georgia resident since 1998. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in World History and Cultures\, a certificate in Public History\, and a minor in Classical Studies from Kennesaw State University. He lives in Canton\, Ga with his wife Chelsea and their three cats. Over the last seven years\, he has held various positions within the museum field. In addition to his passion for history and history education\, Jordan is an avid lover of all things pop-culture related such as music\, film\, animation\, comic books\, and video games.
