SUMMARY:Cemetery Tour: An Evening in Oak Hill
DESCRIPTION:We’re back in Oak Hill for this year’s cemetery tour!\nSpend an evening with the Bartow History Museum and The Grand Theatre exploring the grounds of one of Cartersville’s oldest cemeteries —  Oak Hill.  This tour allows you to examine the lives and legacies of some of Bartow County’s notable citizens. \nTours are approximately one hour in length and will depart every half hour beginning at 5:00 p.m. The last tour is at 7:00 p.m. \nTickets for the cemetery tour are $15. Member discount applies. \nGet Tickets Here\nAbout Oak Hill Cemetery\nOak Hill Cemetery holds rich history within the confines of its many paths. Burials at the cemetery reach back to around the year 1838 when the Ebenezer Church\, a Methodist congregation\, was organized on the hilltop just off Erwin Street near Cassville Road. Unfortunately\, many of the early graves no longer have markers\, but depressions in the ground and brick borders give clues to their locations. Sometime around 1869 the Cartersville town council voted to adopt the “old Methodist Cemetery” as a public burial ground.  Within four years of its adoption as a public space\, it was given the official name of Oak Hill. \nSponsored by Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services
