About Oak Hill Cemetery:
Established around 1838, Oak Hill Cemetery began with the Ebenezer Church, a Methodist congregation located on the hilltop near Erwin Street and Cassville Road. While many early graves lack markers, depressions and brick borders indicate their locations. In 1869, the Cartersville town council designated the “old Methodist Cemetery” as a public burial ground, and within four years, it received its official name, Oak Hill.
