Can’t come to us? We’ll come to you. A museum educator will travel to your school to share these interesting programs. We offer a wide range of trunks to fit multiple GSE standards.

Trunk Descriptions:

Old Fashioned Toys and Games – Kindergarten, First Grade
Explore toys and games spanning hundreds of years.  Make an old-fashioned spin top , cup and ball, and whirlgig.

Pioneer Pathways Trunk
Experience the daily life of pioneers at work and play with artifacts, toys and activities including butter churning,  Also, learn what it was like to attend class in a one-room schoolhouse.

Colonial Life
Experience daily life in the southern colonies as you learn about farmers, women, children, and servants. Make an old-fashioned toy and perform chores from the past.

Cherokee Life
Examine Cherokee artifacts as you learn about their lifestyle.  Find out how similarly they lived to their pioneer neighbors.  View a blowgun demonstration.

Civil War Trunk
A haversack and knapsack hold the soldier’s most prized possessions and is his “home away from home.”  Students will discover the hardships of the doctors and nursed who cared for the sick and wounded soldiers, while also looking at diversity during the Civil War.

World War II Trunk
From battlefront to home front, students learn about the caused of the war, V-mail, Victory Gardens, and rationing activities.
